I have installed Ubuntu on other computers and it was very trouble free. Not this time.

Update (May 16) – It looks like I have my solution for the Ubuntu installation problem. But, it’s going to mean wiping out MS Windows and maybe not bothering to go through the process of saving the recovery disks (4 of them to be burned) and then hoping MS doesn’t assume I’m trying something flaky and not allow me to reinstall Windows. I’ve heard you are only allowed ONE reinstall. Pretty bad when you pay for Windows as part of a new computer.

Odd, when there is a Twitter account for HPLinux, not to mention the whole service for corporations who want to go with a Linux OS.

Maybe a home/ personal HP computer just doesn’t rate. I’m VERY disappointed and disillusioned with HP.

Plus I STILL can’t get Ubuntu Linux to install on my new HP computer.

I never understand the anger management issues with spiders. I’ve got one living on the ceiling of my bedroom. He/ she has been there all winter. I’ll catch him/her and dump them outside now that it’s spring.

I know people don’t like spiders. But to feel all this anger towards them is a bit creepy and very unjustified.

No, I don’t pick them up and I don’t choose to keep them around as pets. But, I’m not out to get them either.

Are you having some sort of predator moment? Fearing you will have to share food sources with the spider? They eat bugs, if you’ve sunk that low… reconsider.

Are you afraid of a venomous spider? There are few of them in North America. Relax, the spider isn’t out to eat you. It would be happy to avoid you entirely. You’re not nearly crunchy enough.

Anyway, without any actual feedback from Blogger I’m guessing they want the name “Canadian” which I’m using on that account. This could be their way of checking to see if the account/ name is dormant before they take it over. Which is interesting because somewhere on their site and all that Blogger account information it says they will never delete an old account. If that’s true why the interest in this one?

I last posted there in 2011. There are other accounts which I haven’t posted to since 2009. But, those have never had a weird email telling me to access them (in the name of Blogger). Anyway, just a little interesting thing for the day. I did access the account. That “Canadian” name is worth keeping. Especially if they are skulking around trying to take it away.
