Death as a Problem with Immortality
| October 26, 2008 | Posted by thatgrrl under Uncategorized |
The biggest problem keeping us from living forever, is death.
Zombie Robot Frosting is writing about living forever. Go back and read from the start if science fiction type humour interests you at all. I like it.

The Harry Potter Husband Test

This one was on Blogging Den 2.
Your result for The Harry Potter Husband Test…
Mrs. Bill Weasley
Your perfect HP man is Bill Weasley.

You like guys who are cool. And not cool in that fake, dicky way, but actually cool. He’s so cool that they couldn’t find any actor to adequately portray him, so they decided to just leave him out of the movies rather than risk not doing justice to his coolness. He’s like the Chuck Norris of Harry Potter: plain freaking awesome. When Voldemort says “You-Know-Who”, he’s talking about Bill Weasley.

Seven Random Facts About Me
| October 21, 2008 | Posted by thatgrrl under Uncategorized |
Izabela tagged me with this meme:
THE RULES
1. Link to your tagger and list all these rules in your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by including links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs.
FACTS ABOUT ME:
1. I like to create elegant gowns (in my imagination) which I would wear to the Oscar Awards when I attend with Keanu Reeves. I always look fabulous!
2. I love chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Together, when possible, even in coffee flavours.
3. I would rather have a good coffee (latte) than any kind of alcoholic beverage. I’m usually the only one ordering coffee when I go to a bar. That’s why I seldom go to bars, just not my thing. People must think I’m a recovering alcoholic, I’m not, I just prefer coffee.
4. When I was a teenager I promised myself I’d never be one of those women who colours her hair. I loved my natural colour. Never say never.
5. My nephew likes to hold my hand and pick my fingernails. I don’t know why. Having my fingernails picked gives me major ick factor and I always yank my hand away.
6. I really, really do want a time machine or to be immortal and live forever at the age I am now. I’d settle for being a shapeshifter, maybe. You can’t have everything.
7. I’d like to live as a vagabond or nomad, traveling all over the world as long as I had a home base to come back to and stash my computer, books and other essential treasures.
Consider yourself tagged to continue on. *Much evil laughter*.
It’s Time… for Keanu
| October 19, 2008 | Posted by thatgrrl under Uncategorized |

There are times when he looks pretty scruffy, pretty ordinary or not even that good. There are times when he looks like your brother, nice but a goof cause you know him too well and all the mystery is gone. There are times when he looks like a movie star and a leading man. But, there is something about Keanu and no matter what other manbots come along he is still the main manbot and I still just like something about him, more than just the way he looks.

BarCamp

BarCamp: Found on That Canadian Girl.
Wikipedia’s description is “BarCamp is an international network of user generated conferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — often focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats.”
See the site: BarCamp for local events. I could only find a couple near me and neither were really interesting as both are about marketing. But I think the idea is fabulous. Maybe I can set up something myself and see what kind of interest it stirs up. Not for a bit, too much on the to-do list right now.
Blogger Backup
| October 18, 2008 | Posted by thatgrrl under Uncategorized |
Found something new for backing up Blogger blogs: Blogger Backup. Will be giving it a try with Word Grrls later today/ tonight. The real challenge will be this blog which has far more content. A heavy duty job for any blog backup software.
I did use Getleft before and it seemed to work well, on this blog. I have not done it in awhile and never had an urgent need to test it. So far. Kind of good to know there is a backup plan though.
