Get it on Paper

“To overcome writer’s block, get something – anything – down on paper. Don’t wait for perfection to issue forth. Since the key to good lawyerly writing is re-writng, give yourself something to edit.”

Figure Skaters Dancing in My Head

You know you’re not quite average when you have figure skaters spinning, twirling and dancing in your head as you listen to the radio. I don’t know why I see figure skaters. It’s better than dead people. I also see other dancers, the odd baton twirler and ballerina too. Usually it’s those girls on their skates though. I don’t mind them. But, it does seem funny. I guess it’s cause I do like watching figure skating and I did figure skate as a kid, a really long time ago. Does anyone else see people dancing on or off the ice when they listen to music?

Cutting the Cord!

It isn’t every day you get to pay off the credit card that’s been sucking at your money for over a year. Today the insurance money came through finally. I am going to get the bus to the downtown Bay store and pay that thing off in cash. No more charges each month! (Unless I make them myself). Freedom from credit cards!!

I may not have much but now I don’t have debt either. Except to my brother which isn’t on paper at least.

National Shut Down Day

Of course when I went there just now the site has nothing to say what it’s about. Just something asking for charitable donations to some cause or other.

From the blog I found this on I assume it is shutting your computer off for 24 hours beginning in a few minutes (March 24th).

Capturing Images

At Museum: Houses on Charles W.

I noticed these boarded up houses when my brother dropped me off to catch the subway at the Museum stop on Monday. I meant to get back sooner but, I did get there today. As I was taking the photos I wished the windows weren’t gone. Sometimes those old places have stained glass and leaded panes and other nice features in the windows. In houses now it’s something you order and plan after they are built, if at all. Or just some sticker type thing, not glass at all.

These houses will be gone before long. The construction crews were around, working on a site one street down. No idea what would have been there before. I’m glad to have some photos of these houses while they are still around. I don’t nearly enough about architecture to guess how old they are. It was interesting that they were all very close and yet each had a unique look. I would guess they were all built at the same time but maybe by different people/ builders.
