The Tree Stands Alone

The snowy tree across from the bus stop. Kind of a sad looking tree with branches hacked off to make room for the modern power lines. Funny how we are now, at this late date, getting the media alert about global warming. Now, when it’s frighteningly obvious we have put the planet into danger by our thoughtlessness or self-centredness. Poor tree. How backwards is it to mangle the trees instead of adjusting the artifical power lines.

My other thought for the day… why do people phone me using the speaker thing? I can’t hear you, moron! Pick up the bloody phone or just bug off and don’t call me. They are always phoning to sell something too. People who actually are calling me (those who actually know my name) make sure I can hear them. Why are the others so stupid? I have tried to hear them a few times, asking them to repeat what they say cause I can’t hear them at all. One got annoyed at me. Well, peeve you maggot-brain. I think it’s their way of getting through more calls quickly. If they don’t need to pick up the phone each time they can get through more spam calls that much faster. But, I can’t hear them. So, what are they really saving? It is aggravating. I just hang up on all of them now. Or, I don’t even answer the phone now that I have the answering machine. Damned idiots.

Sickly Grrl Coming to a Shopping Mall Near You

I can’t breathe, I’m coughing, I ache everywhere and I feel so drained I could be sucked through the floor at any moment. I had a fever but luckily I found some Tylenol to take care of that. Whoever did this to me… I curse you and all your germs. I really don’t know how I got sick when I’ve almost been living like a hermit. Just proves people are not washing their damned hands. Wash your hands people. Don’t spread germs and don’t catch them. If everyone washed, not just me, things like this would only happen if you deliberately coughed on people. If I knew where this came from, I would. I will get you… whoever you are. Wash your germ infested hands!

Beaches Firehouse in Detail

My camera had trouble. It kept shutting down on it’s own. So I didn’t get more pictures than these. I was thinking to go down to Lake Ontario. I could see it from where I caught the Woodbine bus. The waves were throwing themselves ashore. It looked really dramatic and COLD! Another day I will try it. Makes me wish I had the car though. I could park close and run back into the warm car instead of walking back to wait for the bus.

Beaches Firehouse

This Firehouse is on Queen Street East and Woodbine Avenue. A man was walking by as I took the photos. He said they had recently repaired the clock in the tower so it was actually a working clock. That was nice. It was the clock tower that I was most drawn to. The rest of the building (what I saw) was on the plain side. Functional, for a working fire station.

Cemetery on Kingston Rd. and Woodbine

This is a short walk from where I live. I walked down to the bus, realized it wasn’t coming till about 9:00 cause it was Sunday. So I walked into the cemetery for a bit. My camera was not happy about the cold weather I think. I had to shut it off and restart a couple of times.

Husband Beware

The book title made me laugh. Just like that one about Missing him… with every shot so far. The other is a fabric I remember seeing (maybe buying too) at WalMart a few years ago. I hope I have it somewhere still. So much is gone missing.

Caramel Tea

I’m not a real tea drinker, sometimes I like Earl Grey or something herbal and interesting. Today I came home with Lipton’s Caramel Twist tea. I’ve got it brewing. Isn’t brewing a coffee word though. I know they brew beer but do they really brew tea too? It just doesn’t seem like a real, official brewing situation. Tea soaks, it doesn’t really get brewed. Maybe that’s why I have never been a real tea person. That water just doesn’t get pushed around enough during the tea making process.

The Caramel tea has a sweet caramel smell. In the store I tried to smell through the cellophane, no luck. I wondered what kind of caramel it would be. I love a caramel flavoured coffee, it’s smooth and mellow, one of the best kinds out there (according to me). This caramel tea doesn’t have that smooth, mellow smell. It’s making me think of those Kraft caramel candies a lot more than a real caramel taste. I don’t think it smells like the caramel you make at home by cooking sugar.

It tastes ok though. Unique, not an Earl Grey experience. But I think it will grow on me.
